Day 68 - Sunrise At Angkor Wat

by Joe Butch on March 23, 2009

Woke up at 4:30 AM and headed over to Angkor Wat to watch the sunrise. Today happend to be the Equinox. The sun rises directly over the middle tower. (It only happens 4 days a year.)

Unfortunately the clouds prevented us from seeing a great sunrise. Being at Angkor Wat so early in the morning we practically had it to ourselves. On our way out there was heaps of people.

Day 66 - Honeymoon Scam

by Joe Butch on March 21, 2009

Every nice hotel i’ve been booking on Expedia, I’ve been writing “It’s my honeymoon.” in the special comments field. It already worked for the Santhiya Koh Phangan room.

When We checked into our new hotel in  Cambodia we found a fruit platter in the living room, flowers layed on the bed spelling happy honeymoon with a heart, and a bathtub filled with flowers. A few minutes later someone knocked on our door with a happy honeymoon cake.

As long as you fit the role it seems like its always +EV to do this.

Day 65 - Cambodia Shooting Range

by Joe Butch on March 19, 2009

[x] AK47
[x] M-16
[x] M-60
[  ] Gernades
[  ] Rocket Launchers
[x] Chickens
[  ] Cows

I was actually a little disapointed when I was told they do not have the rocket launcer or gernades anymore. It also seems like the prices went up they wanted $40 for the AK47 or M16 for one magazine filled with 30 bullets. They wanted $120 for the M60.

The instructor actually asked me if I wanted to shoot a chicken. Obviously I said no thanks.

When he switched the M16 to Fully Automatic it was all over in a second.

Once I finished they tried to upsell me to try the M60 next for $60 but I declined.
